In addition to training and assessment services, Red Earth Training Solutions conducts a wide range of Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments.
VOC is an industry-recognised process used by employers to verify a worker’s current competency to safely operate specific plant or equipment.
VOC assessments can be conducted on site at your workplace or at our training facility in Burton, subject to site and equipment suitability.
Under Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, the Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) is required to ensure that workers operating plant and equipment are competent to do so and that appropriate systems are in place to verify this competence.

A VOC assessment is both theory and practical-based and assesses whether a participant can demonstrate current competency to safely operate a specific item of plant or equipment.
To undertake a VOC, participants must already hold relevant evidence of competency, such as:
VOC does not provide training and does not issue a nationally recognised qualification or licence.
It confirms competency at the time of assessment only.
Upon successful completion:
The validity period of a VOC is determined by the employer or site requirements.
Additional costs may apply for regional or workplace-based delivery.
