A $100 deposit is required upon booking to secure a course place. The remaining balance is payable on the first day of the course, unless otherwise specified.

All course fees are GST-free for accredited training.

You may be eligible for subsidised training through the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). Call CITB on (08) 8172 9500 or visit their website www.citb.org.au to check your eligibility.

CITB subsidy is subject to eligibility and CITB approval. Subsidy amounts and conditions may change and annual caps may apply. Please confirm your eligibility with CITB before enrolling.

Additional Costs

Additional fees may apply for travel, accommodation and critical resource requirements for regional or workplace-based delivery.
Where applicable, a written quote will be provided prior to enrolment confirmation.

What You’ll Learn

  • Plan and prepare for telehandler operations
  • Conduct pre-start, start-up and shutdown checks
  • Operate and manoeuvre the telehandler safely
  • Lift, carry and place loads within rated capacities
  • Use attachments where applicable following safe procedures
  • Park and secure the telehandler
  • Carry out routine operator maintenance and housekeeping

Course Outcome

On successful completion, you’ll receive:

  • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment: RIIHAN309F Conduct telescopic materials handler operations
  • Wallet-sized operator card (not a licence)

Completion of this course does not guarantee employment or licensing outcomes.

Entry Requirements

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide valid photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, or proof-of-age card)
  • Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) – apply at www.usi.gov.au
  • Wear appropriate PPE: long-sleeve shirt, long trousers, and steel-capped boots (hi-visibility vest will be supplied by RETS if required)
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand English at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions and communicate effectively in the workplace
  • Participants are required to read the learner guide prior to attending training

Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital Skills Requirements

All participants are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND) assessment prior to enrolment.

This assessment is designed to ensure that all participants have the necessary skills to fully engage with the course content and assessment requirements. It is not intended to create barriers, but rather to support participants by identifying any areas where additional assistance may be needed, helping to set everyone up for success.

If you have any concerns regarding literacy or numeracy, our staff can provide guidance and access to support services at no additional cost. Our goal is to ensure that all participants are confident and capable of safely and effectively completing their training.
