Short Term Low Impact (STLI)

Temporary Traffic Management
Short Term Low Impact (STLI)

Training and assessment for civil, mining and construction

Overview

Course Objective

The course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to implement temporary traffic management measures for works categorised as ‘Short Term Low Impact’.

What is Short Term Low Impact Work?

STLI work is conducted without the assistance of accredited Traffic Management personnel, and in accordance with simplified Traffic Guidance Schemes. STLI deals specifically with those worksites which are of such a short nature and have sufficiently low impact that a site-specific risk assessment has determined that the work can be undertaken without the use of a Static Worksite.

Short Term Low Impact Works:

  • are of short duration
  • involve minimal plant, equipment and workers
  • may be frequently changing work area
  • located sufficiently clear of traffic
  • can be quickly removed from the worksite

Short Term Low Impact Works DOES NOT involve:

  • works of greater than a shift in duration
  • long term static works
  • mobile works
  • works involving stopping traffic (traffic controllers)
  • works requiring speed limit changes
  • redirecting pedestrians off their normal path
